From Laboratory to Full Engineering Deployment: TX-1 Absorbent Performance Reaches the Industry’s Upper Limit
Against the backdrop of China’s “dual-carbon” strategy, achieving high-efficiency carbon capture, low-energy regeneration, and long absorbent lifespan has become a key focus for the industry. Through continuous innovation in absorbent formulation, TONEXUS has developed the self-owned TX-1 carbon capture absorbent series, which has demonstrated significant performance advantages across multiple experimental rounds.
I. Effective Acid Gas Loading Increased by Nearly 50%
Under the same operating conditions:
TX-1 achieves an effective acid gas loading of 59.2 – 24 = 35.2 L/L,
compared with 56.8 – 33.2 = 23.6 L/L for traditional MEA absorbents, representing an improvement of nearly 50%.
Higher effective acid gas loading directly translates into lower regeneration energy consumption.
II. Oxidation Resistance Increased by Nearly 77 Times
In accelerated oxidation tests conducted at 120°C and 1 MPa oxygen:
MEA shows an initial degradation time of 13 minutes;
TX-1 shows an initial degradation time of 1,000 minutes.
TX-1 demonstrates extremely strong oxidative stability, significantly extending absorbent service life.
III. Toward a More Sustainable Carbon Capture System
A series of experiments show that TX-1 offers:
• Stronger stability, with oxidation resistance increased nearly 77 times
• Effective acid gas loading increased by nearly 50%
TONEXUS will continue to advance the industrial deployment of CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage) technologies and provide more competitive solutions for achieving industrial net-zero.
