TONEXUS Showcases NFPP Cathode Materials and Sodium Supplementation Advances at the Global Sodium-Ion Battery TOP Rankings Event

    On August 28, the 2026 11th Starting Point Sodium-Ion Battery Forum & Global Sodium-Ion Battery TOP Rankings Event was held in Shenzhen under the theme “Full-Chain Breakthroughs, Scaling Up for Transformation.” The forum brought together companies and industry experts from across the sodium-ion battery value chain to discuss technological innovation and pathways toward large-scale commercialization.

    Tongxing Haosheng, a subsidiary of TONEXUS, was invited to participate in the event. Marketing Director Zhang Tanghu delivered a keynote presentation and joined a roundtable discussion, sharing the company’s latest progress in sodium-ion battery materials, sodium supplementation solutions, and commercialization.

    Expanding the NFPP Cathode Material Portfolio

    TONEXUS is currently developing a portfolio of general-purpose NFPP, high-compaction-density NFPP, and high-first-charge S-NFPP to address different requirements across energy storage, high-energy-density cells, and light-duty power applications.

    The general-purpose NFPP delivers a first-discharge specific capacity of up to 108 mAh/g, while offering a balance of cost efficiency, processability, and cycling performance. Test results show capacity retention of over 93% after 2,500 cycles, while capacity retention reaches 86% at -20°C.

    Advancing Sodium Supplementation to Unlock Greater Battery Performance

    To further improve initial efficiency, cycling performance, and energy density, TONEXUS has integrated sodium supplementation technology into its existing NFPP material platform to develop high-first-charge S-NFPP.

    In laboratory pouch-cell tests, full cells using S-NFPP achieved an increase in first-cycle efficiency from 85.5% to 97.5%, offering a new approach to reducing active sodium loss and improving overall battery performance.

    The company is also advancing the development of high-voltage NMFPP and a new gas-free Type-C sodium supplementation agent, with a focus on further optimizing voltage performance, sodium supplementation efficiency, and compatibility with different battery systems.

    Supporting the Scale-Up of Sodium-Ion Battery Technology

    During the roundtable discussion, TONEXUS exchanged views with industry peers on battery costs, market development, sodium supplementation technologies, and future applications.

    As the sodium-ion battery industry continues to mature, competition is increasingly moving beyond the performance of individual materials toward a broader combination of cost, cycle life, energy density, and total life-cycle value.

    From laboratory breakthroughs and continuous product optimization to 10,000-ton-scale production, sodium-ion battery technology is accelerating its transition from technical validation to large-scale commercial application.

    Looking ahead, TONEXUS will continue to invest in NFPP cathode materials, sodium supplementation technologies, and the commercialization of key sodium-ion battery materials. Through continuous materials innovation, the company aims to improve performance, optimize costs, and work with industry partners to unlock more opportunities for the large-scale adoption of sodium-ion batteries, contributing to the green transition of the new energy industry.
