The 2025 Shandong Province Papermaking Industry Annual Conference & the Shandong Paper Industry Green and Low-Carbon High-Quality Development Conference was held in Dezhou, Shandong from May 8th to 9th. Due to TONEXUS Technology's substantial achievements and excellent reputation in pollution reduction and carbon reduction within Shandong Province, the Shandong Provincial Papermaking Industry Association specially invited TONEXUS Technology to serve as a co-organizer of this conference and to deliver a special report.

Wu Wei, Deputy General Manager of the company and General Manager of the Engineering Division, attended and delivered a report titled "Denitrification and Carbon Reduction Technologies and Applications for Papermaking Alkali Boiler Flue Gas". TONEXUS Technology's Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification Technology for Alkali Recovery Boiler Flue Gas and its typical application cases attracted extensive attention from attending enterprises and experts. During the conference, TONEXUS Technology engaged in broad and in-depth exchanges with multiple papermaking enterprises regarding flue gas denitrification technology for papermaking alkali boilers and related cooperation.

Evaluated and certified by a panel of experts organized by the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, this technology has reached the international leading level and fills a gap in the domestic market. Compared with traditional denitrification processes for papermaking alkali recovery boilers, TONEXUS Technology's Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification Technology for Papermaking Alkali Boilers holds significant advantages. As an external denitrification process, it has no impact on the safe operation of the alkali boiler. Due to its high denitrification efficiency, stable operation, process safety, low operational energy consumption, and low maintenance costs, it is expected to become the mainstream process for achieving ultra-low emissions and energy saving/consumption reduction on alkali recovery boilers in the paper industry.
Typical application cases for this technology are located across multiple provinces and cities nationwide, including: The first domestic set of Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification project for an Alkali Recovery Boiler – the RB1 Alkali Boiler Denitrification Project for Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd.; the world's largest Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification project for an Alkali Recovery Boiler – the Asia Symbol RB2 7500-ton Alkali Boiler Denitrification Retrofit Project; the 2400-ton Alkali Boiler Desulfurization + Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification Project for Tai Sheng (Guizhou) Bamboo Resource Development Co., Ltd.; the 1200-ton Alkali Boiler Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification Project for Sichuan Yongfeng Paper Co., Ltd.; the 132-ton Alkali Boiler Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification Project for Jiangsu Gold East Paper (GEP) Co., Ltd.; and the 1080-ton Alkali Boiler Desulfurization and Denitrification Project for Chongqing Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Limited.
According to data from the China Paper Association, in 2024, there were approximately 2,500 paper and paperboard manufacturers nationwide; the national production output of paper and paperboard reached 136.25 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.09%; the national total pulp production reached 94.54 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.15%. With the tightening of emission limits for alkali recovery boiler flue gas, the vast majority of papermaking enterprises will face the problem of NOx emissions exceeding standards from their alkali recovery boilers, which will strongly drive the demand for flue gas treatment of alkali recovery boilers in the paper industry. Currently, Jiangsu Province has already implemented a NOx emission standard of 50 mg/Nm³ for papermaking alkali boiler flue gas. Other regions or provinces are likely to implement the 50 mg/Nm³ standard in the future, making it imperative to choose a denitrification process with foresight.
Recently, TONEXUS Technology's Low-Temperature SCR Denitrification Technology and Equipment for Alkali Recovery Boiler Flue Gas was successfully selected for the 2024 National Catalog of Pollution Prevention and Control Technologies.
