    Tongxing Haosheng (Yibin) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a core subsidiary of TONEXUS dedicated to the R&D and industrialization of sodium battery materials, has become an emerging force in the field of sodium battery cathode materials. With its differentiated NFPP cathode material system and comprehensive product portfolio, the company is leading the sodium battery cathode materials track with strong technology, R&D capability, and large-scale production capacity.


    On March 20, 2026, the 2026 (10th) Qidian Sodium Battery Forum, Global Sodium Battery Technology Application Luban Awards Ceremony, and Global Sodium Battery Start-Stop Summit, hosted by Qidian Sodium Battery and Qidian Research and title-sponsored by CNAE China Sodium Battery, were grandly held at Baoying Jinling Hotel in Yangzhou. At the event, Dr. Ma Qianru, Director and Technical Director of Tongxing Haosheng, delivered a keynote speech titled “New Breakthroughs in Sodium Batteries: Advances in NFPP Cathode Materials and Sodium Supplement Technology,” providing a detailed introduction to the company’s strategic layout and the latest breakthroughs in NFPP cathode and sodium supplement technologies.


    Parent Company Empowerment + Strategic Focus, Anchoring the Core Sodium Battery Track

    As a main-board listed company on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, TONEXUS has established a mature “One Core with Two Wings” development strategy. The “core” refers to the company’s core environmental protection business, while the “two wings” focus respectively on low-carbon CCUS business and sodium-ion battery business in new energy. The three segments work in synergy, achieving deep integration between traditional environmental protection operations and emerging new energy businesses, and providing Tongxing Haosheng with ample capital, industrial resources, and strong brand endorsement.


    As TONEXUS’s dedicated platform for its sodium battery business, Tongxing Haosheng has, since its establishment, focused on the R&D, production, and sales of NFPP (sodium iron pyrophosphate phosphate) cathode materials and supporting sodium supplement agents, serving as the core carrier of the company’s new energy segment. To advance the implementation of 10,000-ton-scale capacity, the company officially renamed Hefei Haosheng to Tongxing Haosheng (Yibin) at the end of 2024 and established large-scale production lines in Yibin, Sichuan. This move marks TONEXUS’s key leap from technology R&D to industrial commercialization and demonstrates the company’s long-term strategic determination in the sodium battery sector.


    Four Core Product Lines Taking Shape, Performance Benchmarks Reaching First-Class Industry Levels

    Leveraging an experienced R&D team and strong industry-university-research collaboration advantages, Tongxing Haosheng has completed the R&D, pilot-scale production, and commercial-scale trial production of four core products: general-purpose NFPP, high-compaction NFPP, NaCrO₂ sodium supplement agent, and high-initial-efficiency S-NFPP. Verified through rigorous testing, these products balance cost, electrochemical performance, safety, and processability, and are fully suited to downstream applications such as energy storage, low-speed electric vehicles, and start-stop power systems.


    General-purpose NFPP is Tongxing Haosheng’s core mass-production product, featuring high cost performance and strong scalability. Its key advantages are highly prominent. The product offers a specific capacity of up to 108 mAh/g, while raw material cost can be controlled below RMB 12,000 per ton, significantly lower than that of comparable industry products, giving it strong market competitiveness. It also delivers excellent processing performance, is compatible with low-cost PVDF systems, allows slurry to remain stable for extended periods, and does not become brittle when the compaction density reaches 2.1 g/cm³, meeting the requirements of continuous industrial production.


    In terms of electrochemical performance, the product achieves an initial charge-discharge efficiency of about 85.5%, with a stable operating voltage of 3.0 V. It also shows outstanding rate performance: capacity retention exceeds 92% at 5C and still reaches 87% at 10C, while voltage drop is only 0.2 V. Its cycle life is excellent, with capacity retention remaining above 93% after 2,500 cycles. It also demonstrates strong adaptability to both high and low temperatures, with 86% capacity retention at -20°C, making it suitable for extreme working conditions.


    Its safety performance has passed stringent testing. Nail penetration, crush, and overcharge tests all meet national standards. In 130°C hot-box testing and external short-circuit testing, no smoke, fire, or explosion occurred, meaning its safety far exceeds conventional industry requirements. In addition, the product has completed assembly testing in a 50Ah blade cell. Under 1C cycling, it maintained 80% capacity after 10,000 cycles. Under 2C and 5C fast charging, capacity retention reached 98% and 96%, respectively. It also showed impressive high- and low-temperature discharge performance, retaining 83% capacity even at -40°C, while achieving up to 104% capacity output in high-temperature environments.


    To meet downstream demand for higher battery energy density, Tongxing Haosheng developed high-compaction NFPP based on its general-purpose product through small-particle composite design. This product achieves a specific capacity of 104 mAh/g and an increased compaction density of 2.4 g/cm³, further optimizing the battery’s volumetric energy density. Capacity retention still remains at 90% under 5C conditions, showing excellent electrochemical stability. With raw material costs of about RMB 14,000 per ton, it achieves a balance between performance and cost and is suitable for application scenarios with higher energy density requirements.


    NaCrO₂ sodium supplement agent is Tongxing Haosheng’s core supporting product developed to solve the pain points of low initial efficiency and insufficient capacity utilization in sodium-ion batteries. This product has a theoretical specific capacity as high as 225 mAh/g and excellent electrochemical activity, with a dosage of only 1% needed to deliver significant effects. Test data show that after adding this sodium supplement agent, full-cell capacity utilization increased from 85% to 110%, effectively improving battery cycle life and capacity utilization. The product has now been sampled to multiple industry peers for testing, and downstream customers have provided positive feedback. It has shown excellent compatibility in both NFPP systems and layered oxide systems and has entered the preliminary testing stage with key customers.


    Building on its independently developed sodium supplement technology, Tongxing Haosheng combined organic sodium supplement agents with NFPP materials and launched the high-initial-efficiency S-NFPP product through an exclusive coating process. This product achieves an initial-cycle efficiency exceeding 95%, with the highest reaching 97.5%, representing a 12-percentage-point improvement over conventional NFPP products. At the same time, it can form a sodium slow-release layer on the anode, further extending overall battery cycle life. In addition, the matching sodium supplement agent is extremely low in cost and has negligible impact on total material cost, offering an ideal solution to the industry-wide challenge of low initial efficiency in sodium-ion batteries.


    In addition to its existing mass-production products, Tongxing Haosheng has also initiated R&D on high-voltage NMFPP and gas-free sodium supplement agents. High-voltage NMFPP raises the operating voltage from 3.0 V to around 3.5 V to meet downstream demand for high-voltage applications. The gas-free sodium supplement agent has been developed to address the gas generation issue of organic sodium supplement agents. It has a theoretical specific capacity of over 400 mAh/g and a measured value of 330 mAh/g. It produces no gas during decomposition, has a very low risk voltage, and maintains low-cost advantages, further enhancing the company’s product technology reserves.


    Deep Integration of Industry, Academia and Research, with R&D Strength Building a Solid Core Barrier

    Tongxing Haosheng consistently regards technological innovation as its core driving force and has established an integrated industry-academia-research R&D system. The company specially invited Professor Xu Maowen from Southwest University to serve as Chief Scientist and lead the core technology development of NFPP cathode materials and sodium supplement agents. The team has many years of experience in sodium battery material R&D, has accumulated multiple independently owned patented technologies, and has built a solid technological barrier.


    The company’s R&D journey has been steady and well-grounded. From 2013 to 2020, it completed seven years of technology accumulation and process optimization. After 2020, its core technologies entered a stable and mature stage. In 2023, the company entered into formal cooperation with TONEXUS and Southwest University and completed the transfer of two patented polyanionic material technologies. In early 2024, Haosheng New Energy was jointly established, and within the same year, a pilot production line was completed and officially put into operation. The pilot products have demonstrated stable performance and now provide a solid foundation for large-scale commercial production.


    Large-Scale Capacity Implementation, Accelerating the Full Industrial Chain Layout

    Based on the maturity of its technology, Tongxing Haosheng is accelerating industrial implementation. In the early stage, it signed a project agreement with Hanshan County in Ma’anshan and secured 180 mu of land to plan sodium battery cathode material production capacity. It then shifted focus to Yibin, Sichuan, for the deployment of a 10,000-ton-scale cathode material production line, leveraging Yibin’s local new energy industry cluster advantages to improve supporting supply chains and reduce manufacturing and logistics costs.


    According to the company’s overall plan, after the Yibin 10,000-ton NFPP cathode material production line is completed and put into operation, cell production line deployment will be advanced in parallel, with a planned 6 GWh cell production capacity. This will create a full industrial chain layout ranging from cathode material R&D and production to cell manufacturing. With substantial total investment, the project, once fully operational, will effectively fill the domestic market gap for high-quality NFPP cathode materials, help the company build a second growth curve in its new energy business, and further drive down the industrialization cost of sodium-ion batteries, thereby accelerating their large-scale application in energy storage, transportation, and other sectors.


    As the core platform for TONEXUS’s sodium battery business, Tongxing Haosheng has always adhered to a technology-first and quality-oriented philosophy. With a rigorous R&D approach, hard-core product performance, and a clear industrialization pathway, the company is moving steadily forward in the sodium-ion battery cathode materials field.
