TX-1 Series Carbon Capture Absorbents
Low-Energy and Stable Capture under Complex Flue Gas Conditions
Designed for industrial flue gas conditions characterized by low CO₂ partial pressure, high oxygen content, and complex impurities, Tongxing Technology’s TX-1 Series Carbon Capture Absorbents adopt a function-oriented design that combines low energy consumption, resistance to degradation, and stable operation. According to the report, the regeneration energy consumption can be as low as 2.1 GJ/tCO₂, approximately 35%–40% lower than that of conventional MEA absorbents. Its oxidation resistance is approximately 21 times that of MEA, while its service life can be extended to two to three times that of conventional absorbents. The series currently includes low-energy, balanced, and economical product types, which can be adapted to applications in the steel, cement, power generation, waste incineration, and marine exhaust sectors. The products have already been applied in multiple industrial projects and have achieved Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL 9).
TXIO Wet CO₂ Capture Process
System Optimization for Lower Energy Consumption, Reduced Emissions, and Lower Costs
To address the high steam consumption, difficulties in system water-balance control, and large volumes of pretreatment wastewater commonly associated with conventional wet carbon capture systems, the TXIO Wet CO₂ Capture Process incorporates designs such as functional zoning of pretreatment, regeneration-gas washing, two-stage spraying, and latent heat recovery from the top of the regeneration tower. These designs enable effective system water-balance control and efficient heat utilization. According to the report, the process can reduce pretreatment wastewater discharge by approximately 30%–90% and alkali consumption by approximately 30%–60%. When used together with dedicated absorbents, steam consumption can be reduced by approximately 35%–40%. The process has already been applied in projects across the steel and building materials industries. In the 150,000-tonne-per-year converter gas CO₂ capture project at Rizhao Steel, annual operating costs are expected to be reduced by approximately USD 600,000 compared with conventional solutions. The technology has also achieved TRL 9.
