On January 19, the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry released the Catalogue of Practical Eco-Environmental Protection Technologies and Typical Projects (2025). TONEXUS’s “Low-Temperature SCR DeNOx Technology for Flue Gas from an Alkali Recovery Boiler” was selected for the 2025 catalogue of practical eco-environmental protection technologies, and the “1440 t/d Alkali Recovery Boiler Flue Gas DeNOx Project of Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd.” undertaken by the Company was simultaneously selected for the 2025 catalogue of typical eco-environmental protection projects.
This project is TONEXUS’s first DeNOx project for alkali recovery boiler flue gas. Under conditions of relatively low operating temperature, relatively high flue-gas moisture content, and the presence of alkali-metal dust, it achieved a DeNOx efficiency of over 90%, with NOx emission levels remaining stable over the long term within 50 mg/Nm³.
In this project, TONEXUS innovatively developed a dedicated low-temperature SCR DeNOx catalyst tailored to the characteristics of alkali recovery boiler flue gas, and innovatively created a “catalyst protection – in-situ online thermal desorption/pyrolysis – multi-unit modular DeNOx system.” By optimizing material selection, equipment structural design, and improvements and optimization of BMS and SIS control functions, the Company effectively addressed safety challenges such as flue-gas corrosion, thermal expansion of the system, and synchronized start-up/shutdown operations between the DeNOx system and the alkali recovery boiler. This not only reduced project capital investment, but also minimized equipment footprint, shortened the construction period, and lowered operating costs, effectively solving industry pain points including continuous long-term stable operation of alkali recovery boilers, system safety assurance, and convenient and stable coordinated control.
The inclusion of these two achievements in the national-level catalogue is a strong recognition by the industry of TONEXUS’s technological innovation capabilities and engineering strength.
